ISKCON Grand Bois Mauritius – Sri Sri Gaura Nitai Mandir

From 1984 to 2005, devotees in Grand Bois gathered at different locations to have mangal-arati and other programmes together. In 2005 that was to change. Mr. Sonah Rohee, a generous well-wisher of ISKCON donated a quarter acre of land at Sewsagur Lane, Grand Bois, for the purpose of building a permanent ISKCON Centre. On the 21st of May 2005, the foundation stone of the Sri Sri Gaura Nitai Mandir in Grand Bois was laid.

Activities at the centre

  • Daily programme of arati and kirtan from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Sunday feast from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, twice monthly.
  • Children’s gurukul classes every Sunday from 9:00am to 11am given by Madvapriya mataji.
  • Celebration of all major festivals.
  • Daily evening programme during the month of Kartik with offering of lamps to Damodar-Krishna followed by a prasadam feast.
  • Bhakta course every Saturday from 3:30pm to 5pm given by Ajay Chaitanya prabhu.
